John Heald’s Bloggers Cruise
When I first heard about the Bloggers Cruise, I thought it was funny. Not funny “ha ha” but in a kind of ironic sort of weird way, if you get what I’m saying. A cruise for people who happen to write a journal on the Internet? Ha!

Groggily, I open my eyes to peer at the clock. 9:00. Why hasn't the baby woken up for her feeding? My breasts are rock hard and engorged, my nightshirt soaked. She normally wakes up for her milk at 5:00 AM on the dot.
I wearily drag myself out of bed and stumble across the room to her cradle. My heart falls to my feet as I see nothing but blankets. Ripping the blankets away, I see my baby curled up, her face already blackened. I pick her up, grabbing first the back of her sleeper. Her body is stiff and unyielding.
